Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. The commercial was re-run in 1964, for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the leading character on Wind It Up and It is Broken, a show in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children to play the eldest daughter to be a part of The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with a blended-family. The show ran for five seasons. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season, she nearly lost her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams.
